Fender 12 Strings
My Fender Start has an annoying sound when I play past the 12th fret on my B and E strings high.?
A road I have a Fender Start and the notes higher in the high B and E are ringing, it's very, very annoying. The sound is almost like a tremolo ish sound. Nor with other strings. I have no idea what it is, can anyone help?
Check the neck for warping. Look down the neck and see if it is twisted or bent slightly. If so, then you need to adjust the neck by adjusting the truss rod, a steel rod inside the neck of the guitar itself. The top of the bar is near the head, and looks like a small hex key slot. Keep the neck straight. A hex wrench should do the trick, but I suggest that a technician or someone with more experience doing so. Also can check the action of the strings. They may be too low to the neck, and when they vibrate, could hit the pitch itself. Check the action on the bridge (the back part of the guitar where the strings go in) and get up if it seems too low. More drastic solutions include the presentation of the dishes themselves, or completely replacing the nut. The 1st two ideas should help. Good luck.
