Squire Fender Start question?

fender squire fell into my lap and I wonder if you should consider replacing the neck and electronics. is a decent guitar and has its melody. would be great for a beginner, but you know, dishes out until the 12th fret, (when bending the strings). is a guitar chaeapo. which has a rosewood neck on it. what should I do with this piece of shit? put it in the fireplace or what? can you just put a heavier with different strings on a bridge, or what? thanks. I was recommended to replace the neck with Warmoth Pro neck "Replacing home. I can not mean the details because it is in the hands of the guitar player to choose the wood, tuner hole sizes, etc. but I would recommend Maple Plain only with rosewood fingerboard, and nut purchased separately Graftech, and some locking tuners.
