12 String Stratocaster

12 String Stratocaster

I lower my guitar action. I can not get off the bridge.?

The bridge is a stratocaster - bridge like. My action is now 3 / 8 inch at the 12th fret. I tried to change the strings and then go down, but does not help bridge is like a bridge with no tremolo stratocaster (but not a real stratocaster is Godin detour). I tried to access the truss rod adjusted (by a professional). Each time you lower the bridge, I fret. My current action is 3 / 8 inch. Chains are also low, near the first fret (about 1 / 8) and the maximum around the late (about 3 / 8). The guitar is new and has no previous owners.

Hello, Navi! If you have lowered the saddles as far as possible, and adjusted the vibrato bridge on the back plate of the bridge is close to the body (See http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index; _ylv = 3? Qid = 20090613113503AAb4hi5), then a look at the relationship-to-body neck next. Assuming that the neck is reasonably straight with minimal relief (check by pressing down a rope at the same time in the 1st and 21 frets, and inspecting the gap in the 8th fret) then you will need to adjust the depth of the neck or fits in your pocket or in the angle of the neck in relation to the surface of the upper body with wedges wood (some have defenses a "micro-tilt adjustment screw for this purpose.) This procedure is not difficult, however, requires a bit of trial and error, Besides working with care and precision so as not to weaken the integrity of the joint of the neck-to-body. Did you or the previous owner changed the neck the original? I want to know if I can get more help. Best Regards, Dana PS Based on your additional details, I recommend you start by changing the angle of the neck in relation with the body (by adding shims at the front of the bag neck). This is a guitar very well done and should be relatively easy to correct the distance string to pitch. By the way, 1/8-inch at the 1st fret (if you mean the top of the fret to the bottom of the chain) is quite high to begin with, it is possible that should be marked nut slot depth, too (once the correct alignment of the neck). Note that with low action and a way to collect heavy you will get some fret buzz on the guitar, however, the important thing is that they are audible through the amp. If you do not feel comfortable in front of yourself repair take it to a reputable shop, better yet, see http://www.godinguitars.com/dealersus.htm contact a local distributor for assistance. Even if the guitar is no longer under warranty, Godin may want to keep your customers happy by playing the guitar as it should be!
