Can I put electric guitar strings on an acoustic?
I bought a 3 / 4 size acoustic guitar in a secondhand store hand the other day and I installed a set of "light" of her acoustic strings. I did not realize they were chains of caliber .12. now every time I touch my fingers hurt like a mother and do not feel comfortable playing at all. I'm used to using 10 gauge strings so I left wondering if I could put a set of Ernie Ball Regular slinkys on guitar. What are the pros and cons of having the electric prods on the acoustic?
If there are not many professionals. There are acoustic and electric strings for a reason. That his mind is not going to make a difference if you do not mind the differences of tone and intonation problems that exist. If your just a beginner and the desire to get its built calasis have to .... er but if you want to take it seriously and play acoustic (or electric at that) must use the appropriate channels. your fingers will hurt for a while but you get used to it and soon you will not feel even the strings with the fingers.
